MBI Selangor

Petaling Jaya, 28 April 2026 – SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie) and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) (MBI Selangor) are exploring a strategic partnership for a large-scale mixed-use industrial development in Sepang Estate, Selangor, adjacent to the KLIA Aeropolis.

The proposed 2,500-acre development is envisioned as an integrated industrial park supported by commercial and complementary residential components. Positioned within a broader state-led development corridor, the project is expected to drive long-term economic growth and emerge as a key investment destination, in line with the objectives of Rancangan Selangor Pertama (RS-1).

Located within the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), the area is part of the Sepang Infinity Corridor Hub under the Sepang Local Plan 2035. Combined, these frameworks are the foundation for a strategic growth corridor in this high-potential region to attract high-value investments and strengthen Selangor’s logistics and industrial ecosystem.

The development will feature a range of industrial infrastructure, including manufacturing, logistics and value-added services, supported by business facilities, training centres and other community amenities that will be designed to promote a sustainable live-work ecosystem. The project is expected to further strengthen Selangor’s position as a key hub for industry and investment.

At the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the parties, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, said the cooperation reflects the state’s commitment to developing a strategically planned mixed‑use township and industrial park that supports long‑term economic growth.

“By leveraging institutional capability and industry expertise, this is expected to deliver integrated aerospace capabilities supported by sustainable and smart infrastructure. The project is designed to support high‑value industries, including aerospace and logistics, as part of a broader and diversified economic ecosystem. It will also complement Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s next phase of growth, strengthen Selangor’s attractiveness to global investors, and is projected to create more than 32,000 job opportunities by 2030,” he said.

Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani Nik Hassan Thani, Guthrie’s Chairman, said the initiative reflects the Group’s continued commitment to support high impact developments for Selangor and the nation. It marks the second initiative between Guthrie and MBI Selangor, building on a strong and trusted working relationship, following the earlier integrated development project in Carey Island, Selangor.

“We are aiming to create long-term value through strategic land development and industrial clustering to support Selangor’s economic transformation. Strategic land stewardship can enhance economic values, environmental integrity and social balance, while creating lasting impact for the state and its stakeholders and enhance investor confidence,” he said.

MBI Selangor Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ts. Saipolyazan M. Yusop said the MoU underscores MBI Selangor’s continued commitment to advancing strategic developments that support Selangor’s long-term growth priorities.

“As the State’s investment arm, MBI Selangor plays a catalytic role in translating Selangor’s economic ambitions into tangible, high-impact developments. This industrial development is envisioned as a strategic growth node within IDRISS, strengthening the state’s aviation and industrial ecosystem while capitalising on its proximity to KLIA and established infrastructure.

Through this project with SD Guthrie, we are not only unlocking the full potential of this area but also shaping a future-ready industrial cluster that can attract high-value investments, deepen industry capabilities and generate quality employment opportunities. This initiative reflects our continued focus on building a competitive, resilient and sustainable economic landscape that delivers long-term value for Selangor and its people,” he said.

SD Guthrie and MBI Selangor Sign MOU for Strategic Carey Island Development

  • A transformative collaboration to drive regional growth within the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS)

Petaling Jaya, 26 February 2026 – SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie) and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) (MBI Selangor) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore a strategic collaboration for an integrated development in Carey Island.

The MOU establishes a framework for both parties to conduct feasibility studies and develop master planning for a minimum of 2,500 acres, with potential expansion up to 5,000 acres within Carey Island Estate.

The proposed development in Carey Island will form a critical component of the proposed Third Port initiative, the Carey Island Port, within the Carey Island Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This will also reinforce the positioning of the SEZ as a catalytic economic hub, enabling the generation of high‑value economic activities on Carey Island while supporting the broader growth agenda for Southern Selangor.

“The partnership between MBI Selangor and Guthrie underscores the State Government’s determination to unlock the strategic potential of Carey Island. Through the combination of strong institutional capacity and proven industry experience, this collaboration will accelerate the development of the Carey Island Special Economic Zone, stimulate high‑value economic activity and generate wider opportunities that uplift communities in southern of Selangor”, said YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor.

Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad, Guthrie’s Group Managing Director said this latest venture is a strategic opportunity for Guthrie to participate meaningfully in the next phase of Selangor's economic growth, while prioritising sustainable development aligned with its "Beyond Zero" sustainability framework.

“A strategic and sustainable approach to developing Carey Island is critical – both to stimulate economic growth while preserving the irreplaceable value of the island to the plantation industry, and its unique heritage. This includes protecting its rich biodiversity and ensuring the needs and well-being of local communities are prioritised.

“This development demonstrates how strategic land stewardship can unlock economic potential while preserving environmental integrity and social balance, creating lasting impact for the state and its stakeholders,” he said.

MBI Selangor’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ts. Saipolyazan M. Yusop highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership and reaffirmed MBI Selangor’s role in advancing sustainable growth for Selangor.

"As the State’s investment arm, MBI Selangor is committed to advancing strategic developments that generate long‑term value for Selangor. This collaboration will strengthen Carey Island’s road connectivity, infrastructure and utilities which are key enablers that will catalyse new economic activity within the Special Economic Zone. By leveraging our mandate alongside Guthrie’s proven expertise, we are laying the groundwork for a development that will benefit businesses, investors and the people of Selangor,” he said.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone in the growth of Guthrie’s new industrial development segment, diversifying beyond its core plantation operations and unlocking long-term value from its strategically located landbank across the country.

SD Guthrie Records All-Time High Net Profit of RM2.5 billion

  • Strong results bolstered by operational momentum and strategic new portfolios
  • Declares a solid FY2025 final dividend of 10.35 sen

Petaling Jaya, 25 February 2026 – SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie or the Group) achieved a record net profit of RM2.5 billion for the financial year ended December 2025 (FY2025), up 16% from the previous year (FY2024). For the fourth quarter ended 31 December 2025 (4Q FY2025) the Group registered a net profit of RM496 million.

The Group’s strong full-year performance was driven by better results from its Upstream segment and its new Industrial Development segment. The Upstream business contributed to 73% of the Group’s profit before interest and tax (PBIT) of RM3.6 billion, underpinned by encouraging improvements in all key operational drivers. The Group’s fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production increased 1% year-on-year (YoY), whilst the average realised crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK) prices improved by 4% and 33% respectively YoY, to RM4,254 and RM3,219 per metric tonne.

The Industrial Development segment contributed a commendable RM430 million to the FY2025 PBIT, arising from its share of profits of land sale to its tripartite joint venture company.

In FY2025, the Group’s Downstream segment, SD Guthrie International (SDGI), registered a PBIT of RM484 million, having endured a challenging year as softer product demand impacted its performance worldwide. Nevertheless, better performance in SDGI’s Asia Pacific differentiated operations arising from better achieved margins partially cushioned the impact from lower volumes.

Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani Nik Hassan Thani said:

“Guthrie's robust performance in 2025 combines the steady improvement of its core Upstream business and the exciting potential of its new industrial development segment. I am deeply encouraged by these results and look forward to a sustained performance in 2026 as Guthrie's diversified portfolio takes shape. The Group’s performance reflects continued focus on disciplined execution of its strategies by its highly committed management and employees.”

Group Managing Director, Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad said:

“The exceptional showing in FY2025 is testament to the dedication of the teams of people who work across our operations, focused on operational excellence and exploring growth opportunities, as we venture confidently into new strategic growth areas.

Looking ahead, our efforts to streamline and integrate the Group’s value chain into a more unified operating model will enhance synergies, improve efficiencies, and position us to scale up more effectively. This will be a key catalyst in accelerating growth in our new businesses, whilst sustaining momentum in our core operations.”

OUTLOOK FOR FY2026:

CPO prices are expected to be range-bound in the near term, with structural factors supporting market stability. Whilst high inventory levels and the deferral of the Indonesia B50 biodiesel mandate may exert some pressure, slower supply growth and steady global demand for vegetable oils provide a continued balance to CPO prices. Palm oil’s price competitiveness is anticipated to sustain given seasonal restocking in key markets such as India, Middle East and China.

The Upstream segment will continue advancing its operational excellence initiatives to enhance both quality and volumes of combined oil yields. The Downstream segment remains focused on leveraging its integrated supply chain for agile, customer-responsive operations. The Group will also continue to build a sustainable earnings pipeline by growing and closing strategic collaborations in both the Industrial Development and Renewable Energy segments.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the Group expects to deliver a satisfactory performance in FY2026.

DIVIDEND:

The Group declared a final dividend of 10.35 sen per share, which taken together with the interim dividend of 7.75 sen per share, amounts to a total single tier dividend of 18.10 sen per share for FY2025 (FY2024: 16.36 sen per share). This represents an increase in total dividend by 1.74 sen per share compared to FY2024.

Yayasan Sime Darby Contributes RM1 Million To Support Cyclone Related Flood Relief Efforts in Sumatra

  • Contribution channelled through MERCY Malaysia to deliver temporary shelters, clean water support and essential kits for affected families

Petaling Jaya, 12 February 2026 – Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) has committed RM1 million in humanitarian aid to support communities affected by the cyclone related floods in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The contribution made possible through the continued support of YSD’s donor companies Sime Darby Berhad, SD Guthrie Berhad, and Sime Darby Property Berhad, will be channelled through MERCY Malaysia to deliver targeted relief to affected communities.

Y.A.M. Tunku Tan Sri Imran Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar, Chairman of Yayasan Sime Darby, marked the commitment by handing over a mock cheque to Dato’ Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus, President of MERCY Malaysia today. Also present were Datuk Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha, Advisor to the Guthrie's Board of Directors and former YSD Governing Council Member; Ms Caroline Russell, YSD Governing Council Member and Dr Hjh Yatela Zainal Abidin, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Sime Darby.

The rare cyclone triggered severe floods and landslides, with reported impacts across 51 districts and cities. As of December 2025, Indonesian officials reported 1,106 fatalities, 217 missing persons, and more than 1.05 million displaced individuals.

Through this RM1 million contribution, YSD and MERCY Malaysia will support post disaster relief assistance over six months from January to June 2026. Assistance will include the construction of temporary shelters, the installation of clean water support systems and community latrine in Aceh Tamiang. Hygiene kits and essential non-food item kits will also be distributed to affected families in Aceh Tamiang, Langkat and Padang Pariaman. The initiative also includes the deployment of MERCY Malaysia’s rapid assessment teams to support on ground delivery.

Y.A.M. Tunku Tan Sri Imran said, “Thousands in Northern Sumatra have been displaced, with many still struggling to find shelter and access clean water, healthcare, and other basic necessities. Through our RM1 million contribution, and in partnership with our trusted long‑term partner of more than a decade, we aim to support swift and coordinated humanitarian efforts to ease suffering and help restore hope.”

Encik Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad, Group Managing Director of Guthrie said, “Guthrie hopes this contribution to MERCY Malaysia will help to accelerate on-ground relief delivery in North Sumatra, especially for safe shelter and basic household needs. MERCY Malaysia's expertise in disaster relief work is very much appreciated, and we are grateful for their support.”

Dato’ Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus said, “This contribution strengthens our ability to respond in a challenging operating environment, and to deliver essential shelter support, clean water access and critical household supplies to communities most affected.”

Today’s contribution builds on YSD’s long standing partnership with MERCY Malaysia, spanning more than a decade with a total commitment of RM12.2 million since 2014. The collaboration has supported international humanitarian responses including the Nepal earthquake in 2015, the Lombok and Palu disasters in 2018, COVID 19 assistance to India in 2021, and Türkiye’s earthquake recovery efforts in 2023. Domestically, both organisations have also worked together on emergency relief and temporary shelter support for disaster affected communities in Malaysia, including the 2014 Kelantan floods, the 2015 Sabah earthquake, and other flood and disaster responses over the years.

WWF‑Malaysia and SD Guthrie to Pilot Regenerative Palm Oil Project

  • The pilot is part of WWF’s initiative to restore Wildlife Connectivity Across Sabah

EBP8

9 February 2026, Kuala Lumpur – World Wide Fund for Nature Malaysia (WWF-Malaysia) and SD Guthrie Berhad are piloting a five-year regenerative agriculture programme for palm oil in Sabah, Malaysia, the first such initiative of its kind for the industry. This transformational partnership is part of WWF-Malaysia’s larger initiative to deliver landscape-scale level biodiversity and climate-positive outcomes in the region.

The partnership will focus on a landscape in Tawau, Sabah, covering approximately 13,000 hectares across five Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)-certified Guthrie estates. This initiative will serve as a pilot under WWF’s Reconnect Borneo Initiative, which is a regional effort to restore ecological connectivity across Borneo through a network of wildlife corridors.

As part of the collaboration, WWF-Malaysia and Guthrie will work together to establish a wildlife corridor, strengthen biodiversity conservation, and implement WWF’s global regenerative palm oil framework, in real operating conditions. This initiative is designed to move beyond certification towards measurable improvements for biodiversity, climate resilience, and communities while optimising long-term productivity.

The regenerative palm oil framework refers to palm oil production that remains commercially viable, supports workers and local communities, and actively improves biodiversity, ecosystem services, and climate resilience. It builds on existing sustainability standards, including RSPO and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certifications. Success will be measured against clear baselines, with progress demonstrated through biodiversity connectivity, ecosystem services, soil health, and social outcomes.

“Through this ground-breaking partnership, WWF-Malaysia and SD Guthrie are taking a decisive step to pilot regenerative palm oil practices and deliver landscape-scale biodiversity and climate outcomes in a priority area of Sabah,” said Sophia Lim, WWF-Malaysia's Chief Executive Officer.

“These approaches go beyond RSPO and MSPO certification to deliver measurable improvements for biodiversity, climate resilience, and communities, while recognising the economic importance of palm oil to Malaysia and the global market. This partnership reflects a shared understanding that transformation cannot happen in silos—conservation organisations, industry leaders, and value-chain stakeholders must work together to co-create practical, science-based, and scalable solutions. As a conservation organisation, WWF-Malaysia believes in engaging constructively with the palm oil sector, alongside other priority industries to drive meaningful environmental outcomes.”

For Guthrie, the collaboration reinforces its “Beyond Zero” sustainability framework, which lists piloting a Regenerative Agriculture Framework for the palm oil sector by 2028 as a key goal. Guthrie had also committed to restoring and conserving 100,000 hectares of land across and beyond its value chain by 2030 to enhance biodiversity and environmental resilience, which resonates with WWF’s landscape-level initiative for biodiversity.

“We are excited to commence this pilot for regenerative palm oil with WWF and look forward to new learnings that will improve the way we interact with the environment,” said Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad, Guthrie’s Group Managing Director.

“This partnership reflects Guthrie’s commitment to achieve our “Beyond Zero” targets in a practical and credible way, while boosting productive and responsible palm oil operations., With this initiative, we will go above and beyond certification requirements, aiming not only to minimise and mitigate our negative impacts, but also ensure that we actively cultivate positive outcomes in the landscapes where we operate.”

Activities under the collaboration include RSPO- and MSPO-certified plantations and conservation areas and will be subject to independent audits, risk reviews, and WWF governance controls. Future communications related to the partnership will focus on verified conservation baselines and outcomes.

Designed as a pilot, the partnership has the potential to inform wider industry adoption and future engagements with all stakeholders within the sector, seeking credible pathways to support regenerative practices.

By anchoring regenerative palm oil within a landscape-scale conservation approach, WWF-Malaysia and Guthrie aim to demonstrate how collaborative action can contribute to Malaysia’s biodiversity and climate goals while influencing broader transformation across the global palm oil sector.

It Takes a Village to Raise a Child: SD Guthrie Backs Schools Around its Operations

For students in schools tucked within plantation communities, education is shaped by more than textbooks and timetables. It is shaped by the condition of the classroom, the tools available to teachers, and whether learning spaces feel safe, inspiring, and future-ready.

That is where the MADANI Adopted School Programme comes in. Led by the Government, the programme brings together schools, corporate partners, and agencies to uplift learning environments and close education gaps, especially in communities that need the most support.

For SD Guthrie Berhad, participation in the programme is not about ticking boxes. It is about strengthening the communities that sit alongside its operations. Through the Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiative, Guthrie has supported 3,699 students and 385 teachers across 15 primary and secondary schools located within and adjacent to its estates—taking a holistic approach that looks beyond academic results.

In classrooms, the change is tangible. Smartboards, laptops, ICT equipment, as well as literacy and STEM resources have modernised lessons and opened doors to digital learning. At SJKT Pulau Carey Timur, Selangor, the Genius Readers Programme has quietly transformed how students engage with books.

Through simple but consistent daily reading which are guided and independent, students are building confidence, fluency, and a genuine interest in reading, laying the foundation for stronger academic performance.

The support, however, does not stop at learning materials. Guthrie has also focused on the basics that often go unnoticed but make all the difference. Electrical rewiring, improved fencing, better drainage, and enhanced ventilation have helped create school environments that are safer, cooler, and more conducive to learning. Outside the classroom, upgraded sports facilities—from cricket grounds to basketball courts—give students space to grow physically, build teamwork, and discover confidence beyond exams.

What sets the initiative apart is the sustained engagement. In 2025, thirteen Guthrie leaders have personally visited the adopted schools across 9 states in Malaysia, spending time with teachers, students, and school administrators to understand real needs on the ground. These visits reinforce a simple message: the partnership is not simply transactional—it is personal.

Shahrizan Aini Shamsul Khalil, Guthrie’s Chief Human Resources Officer, believes education remains one of the most powerful drivers of social mobility.

“Education has the power to change lives,” she said. “Our approach has always been holistic. We want our contributions to make a meaningful difference—not just today, but for the long term—by strengthening both schools and the communities around them.”

At a broader level, the programme highlights the value of public–private collaboration in advancing national education goals. By complementing government efforts with targeted, on-the-ground support, Guthrie helps bridge resource gaps, introduce modern teaching tools, and equip students with skills they will carry into the future.

As the programme continues, Guthrie remains committed to staying closely connected to its adopted schools, responding to evolving needs, and keeping education at the heart of its community investments—because when education is shared, its impact lasts far beyond the classroom.

SD Guthrie Commits to Living Wage Policy for Employees in Malaysia

  • This initiative ensures equitable pay for all employees while supporting Malaysia’s broader socio-economic goals

Petaling Jaya, 26 December 2025 – SD Guthrie Berhad is committed to raising the standard of living of employees in its Malaysian operations, pledging to develop a living wage policy in the first quarter of 2026. The policy will be rolled out in phases to ensure alignment with existing commitments and the Employee Provident Fund’s Belanjawanku Expenditure Guide. The first phase will involve 8,000 non-plantation employees and is targeted to be completed by December 2026.

In developing the policy, Guthrie is taking into consideration its current labour-related commitments, and international standards that it has already signed up to. These include obligations to provide benefits for workers under Malaysian law, mainly, Act 446 or the Employees’ Minimum Standards of Housing, Accommodations and Amenities Act 1990, which was amended in July 2019. Additionally, Guthrie also adheres to guidelines and standards set by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and the International Labour Organization.

This latest commitment by Guthrie aligns with the announcement by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) to commit to and adopt a living wage policy. The announcement was made collectively with other Government-linked Investment Companies (GLICs), as part of the Government-linked Enterprises Activation and Reform Programme (GEAR-uP) led by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Guthrie’s operations in Malaysia stretch across 11 states and include, 121 estates, 31 mills, and several downstream and renewable energy facilities, employing more than 35,000 people from several countries. In developing its Living Wage Policy, Guthrie will consider several factors, including the different costs of living in various parts of the country, and the value of the comprehensive range of benefits employees enjoy.
