Ms Tan Ting Min, 54, a Malaysian, is an Independent Non-Executive Director. She was appointed to the Board on 14 July 2017. Ms Tan obtained a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Plant Biotechnology from Cambridge University, on a scholarship awarded by British American Tobacco and the Commonwealth Trust Fund.
Ms Tan joined Credit Suisse Malaysia in 1994. She was the regional plantation sector team lead in Credit Suisse from 1998 to 2017 and has covered the plantation sector for close to 25 years.
Ms Tan was the Head of Research in Credit Suisse Malaysia for 7 years from 2010 until her retirement in 2017, and during her tenure, she led the team to top the Institutional Investor polls for seven consecutive years. She was the Malaysian equity strategist for Credit Suisse and has written extensively on equity investment strategy and asset allocation in Malaysia.
Ms Tan is currently a member of the Board of Directors of IJM Corporation Berhad (IJM Corp) and the Board’s representative in SDP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Sime Darby Oils International Limited.
