Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan, 65, a Malaysian, is the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director since 14 July 2017. She was appointed to the Board on 24 February 2016.
Datuk Zaiton is a Fellow and Council Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was Deputy Chair of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Advisory Group.
Datuk Zaiton started her career in PriceWaterhouse (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers). She then joined Bank Pembangunan where she was subsequently seconded to Bapema Corporation Sdn Bhd as a Fund Manager. Datuk Zaiton joined Malayan Banking Berhad in 1984 and had held various positions, including heading both the bank’s treasury and international operations, and Malaysian branch operations. She left Malayan Banking Berhad in 1996 with her last position as the General Manager of Group Strategic Planning. Datuk Zaiton is the former President/Executive Director of Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC). Datuk Zaiton was the former Chairman of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and former Board Member of Lembaga Tabung Haji.
Datuk Zaiton is currently the CEO of Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC). She also sits on the Board of Sunway Berhad and several other private companies.
