Shahrizal Suhainy

Shahrizal Suhainy, 41, Male, Malaysian, was appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer of SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie) on 1 May 2026.

He was previously the Head of Special Projects in the Group Finance department where he led the transformation of the Guthrie’s procurement operating model transformation andother Group-level strategic initiatives. He brings over 18 years of experience, including audit roles at KPMG Malaysia, as well as Chief Financial Officer and Regional Chief Executive Officer positions within the plantation industry.

He joined Guthrie in November 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, Upstream Indonesia, where he oversaw the finance and IT functions, led financial strategy, and managed budgeting, and cash management. During his tenure, he played a key role in several subsidiary disposal transactions to streamline the Upstream Indonesia portfolio and maximise asset monetisation, as well as in positioning Upstream Indonesia into a flagship subsidiary.

From June 2024 to December 2025, he served as Regional Chief Executive Officer, Riau Utara Acheh, Upstream Indonesia, where he oversaw regional operations and drove performance and governance improvements.

Prior to joining Guthrie, Shahrizal was the Chief Financial Officer of TH Plantations Berhad from 2021 to 2022, where he led, among others, the establishment of a RM1.2 billion Sukuk programme. He previously spent 14 years with KPMG Malaysia, where he last held the position of Audit Partner.

He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, and is a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as well as a Chartered Accountant (Member) of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
