Dato' Idris Kechot

Dato' Idris Kechot, 71, Male, Malaysian, is an Independent Non-Executive Director of SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie). He was appointed to the Board of Guthrie on 29 December 2022.

He has vast experience and expertise in end-to-end delivery across the full unit trust and investment management business value chain. He has made a valuable impact as a board member for numerous large corporations across various industries. Throughout his professional career, he has held leadership positions and spearheaded various departments, driving innovation and executing numerous programmes across corporate disciplines to achieve key company objectives encompassing key fiscal, strategic, and operational metrics.

Dato' Idris embodies successful leadership with a proven track record, having played an integral part in successfully achieving strategic, revenue and profit objectives within Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) during his tenure as the Executive Vice-President, Unit Trust, and the Deputy President & Group Chief Operating Officer, Asset Management of PNB, as well as Head & Executive Director of Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad.

He was previously on the Board of Malayan Banking Berhad and Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad. He was also a former Director of the then Sime Darby Plantation Berhad prior to its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2017. He currently sits on the Board of Kumpulan Fima Berhad and serves as Chairman of Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (PROLINTAS) Group of Companies.

Dato’ Idris holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Master of Business Administration specialising in Finance, from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom. He has also attended the Accelerated Development Programme at London Business School, United Kingdom.
