Melissa Lokman

Melissa Lokman, 42, Female, Malaysian, was appointed Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer of SD Guthrie Berhad (formerly known as Sime Darby Plantation Berhad) (SD Guthrie) on 1 March 2024. She was subsequently redesignated as Chief Group Strategy Officer effective 1 April 2025.

Before joining SD Guthrie, Melissa served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Sapura Energy Berhad, a Malaysia-based public listed company, where she played a pivotal role in driving the company's complex turn around while navigating through the energy transition landscape.

Melissa began her career as a Derivatives Trader at Credit Suisse in London back in 2005, followed by a brief stint at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). She has over 18 years of experience in strategy, corporate & debt restructuring, international operations, finance and human resources. She has in-depth experience cutting across various industries including Oil & Gas, Heavy Industries, Public Sector and Investment Banking.

Melissa is an alumna of the University of Cambridge, where she earned both her Bachelor (Hons) and Masters (MEng) in Engineering.
