Jenifer Thien, 57, a Malaysian, is an Independent Non-Executive Director of SD Guthrie Berhad (formerly known as Sime Darby Plantation Berhad) (SD Guthrie). She was appointed to the Board of SD Guthrie on 22 December 2023.

She is the Founder and Principal of Grit and Pace, through which she advices corporations driving transformative change in sustainability, supply chain, procurement and operational excellence. She has over three decades of international senior executive experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry, having worked and resided in various countries in Asia and the United States. She spent 25 years at Mars Incorporated, where she last served as the Global Chief Procurement Officer. Jenifer has successfully led complex business transformation and sustainability programmes through her deep understanding of the business enterprises, the ability to mobilise required capabilities, as well as intensive stakeholder engagement.

Jenifer currently serves as Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of UEM Edgenta Berhad, AEON Co. (M) Berhad, Malaysian Pacific Industries Berhad, Olam Agri Holdings Limited, and Jadestone Energy plc. She is also a Council Member of Climate Governance Malaysia and a member of the Asia Advisory Board of Lucta S.A.

She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Food Science and Technology from University Putra Malaysia. She is also an alumna of executive programmes at the London Business School, INSEAD, Harvard Business School and Center for Creative Leadership.
